Later this afternoon the region will announce its first ever winner of the Offender Health and Social Care Award in the West Midlands. The award recognises a staff member or team who have made a significant contribution to supporting offender health and social care. There is more information here.
The Award will be a great opportunity to showcase the fact that people in Offender Health are committed to making a difference for a vulnerable group of people with high health inequalities. Not everyone can win an award, and we only run this once a year, but everyone can make a difference.
Elsewhere, I have started to focus on reviewing what we have achieved over the last 12 months; my list of how I have made a difference includes:
- This site, lots of people looking at it, some good discusions with service users about the information on the site.
- Working with a big prison healthcare provider to deliver a big improvement in services
- Ensuring the improvement of places of safety across the region
We'd be quite happy to hear your thoughts on how you have made a difference, we'd be happy to share what you have achieved with others on this site. Do get in touch and let us know.
