Places of Safety Resources

To support the improvement of provision Places of Safety we have developed a number of resources, currently we have included on this website out training videos.  If you want to access our other resources please click here to be taken to our original webiste.  We'll move the content over during August 2010.

Our Training resources for Section 136 of the Mental Health Act and Places of Safety, include

  • 5 Video Clips including and introduction, 3 pathways and a summary
  • Power Point Presentation for your use.

The video's were filmed and produced by Keystone Creative. You are welcome to use any of these resources. We simply ask that you reference our organisation and this web resource page during their use.

We will produce a number of copies of the videos on a DVD. we are currently negotiating the number of copies and who will produce them for us.  If you would like more information please contact Gary Holland

Patient Experience

We have heard from Amy about her experience being held under S136 of the Mental Health Act, she has posted a video on her you tube channel and you can access that by clicking here.

Training DVD

The DVD is split into 5 bite size chunks and includes an introduction, the pathways following arrest and a summary. Each video finishes with a menu screen that displays key learning points for discussion.

 

 

 

  • Part 2 of 5 shows the initial assessment and identification of red flags by Paramedics and Police and the subsequent pathway.
