Therapy Roles

 

Within the wider health services, therapists play key roles in improving the health and wellbeing of patients

Therapy roles in prison health teams usually include;

  • Physiotherapists- help patients to maximise movement following an accident, illness or underlying health issue using manual therapy and exercise techniques
  • Occupational Therapists- assessing and treating physical and psychiatric conditions,helping patients to be independant in normal daily activities
  • Podiatrists- improving the mobility, independance and quality of life for patients through treating problems with the feet, ankles and lower limbs
